About
About CalcGratuity
CalcGratuity exists for one reason: most gratuity calculators on the internet are wrong. Many still apply rules that were repealed years ago — the UAE’s old resignation cuts (abolished in February 2022), Oman’s pre-2023 tiers, or Bahrain’s pre-SIO entitlement. An expat planning their exit on those numbers can under-plan by tens of thousands.
What we do differently
- Every calculator applies the current labour law of its country: UAE Federal Decree-Law 33/2021, Saudi Labour Law, Qatar Labour Law 14/2004, Kuwait Labour Law 6/2010, Oman Royal Decree 53/2023, and Bahrain’s Labour Law with SIO Resolution 109/2023.
- Every page shows the full breakdown behind the number, a worked example, and answers to the questions expats actually ask.
- Our “good salary” guides use real, dated rent and cost estimates — including shop rents, which salary guides almost never publish.
- Everything is free, with no sign-up, and your figures never leave your browser.
Who this site is for
Expatriate workers in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain who are changing jobs, resigning, retiring, or simply checking what they are owed — and anyone comparing an offer in one Gulf country against life in another.
Important limits
Our tools give estimates for guidance based on published law. Individual contracts, free-zone rules, employer schemes (such as the UAE’s alternative savings scheme) and special categories can change the result. For a dispute or a large settlement, confirm with your country’s labour office or a qualified lawyer. If you spot an error, please tell us via the Contact page — accuracy is the whole point of this site.
