UAE Final Settlement Calculator — Your Complete Last Cheque
Your gratuity is only part of what you are owed when you leave a UAE job. This calculator combines gratuity + unused leave + notice pay (each on its correct salary base — the detail most people miss) into one itemised final settlement.
| Component | Amount (AED) |

Before you send it home, compare the live AED rate and the total fee — on a full settlement, a better rate is often worth more than a month of salary savings.
What a UAE final settlement is made of
- Gratuity — on basic salary: 21 days/year (first 5 years), 30 days/year after. See the UAE Gratuity Calculator for the full rules.
- Unused leave — on basic salary (Art. 29): unused days × (basic ÷ 30).
- Notice pay — on TOTAL salary (Art. 43): if your employer ended the contract without notice, they owe you the notice period's full wage. If you walked out without serving notice, the same amount can be deducted.
- Other dues — agreed bonuses, overtime arrears, air ticket entitlements if your contract promises them.
- Deductions — only lawful ones: documented loans/advances and unserved-notice compensation.
Your employer must pay everything within 14 days of the contract ending.
Worked example
Priya: basic AED 8,000, total AED 12,000, 7 years of service, 12 unused leave days. Her employer ends the contract with immediate effect (30 days' notice not given).
Gratuity: AED 44,000 · Leave: 12 × (8,000 ÷ 30) = AED 3,200 · Notice pay: 30 × (12,000 ÷ 30) = AED 12,000
Net final settlement = AED 59,200
Frequently asked questions
What is included in a UAE final settlement?
A UAE final settlement normally includes: your last salary up to the final working day, gratuity (end of service), cash for unused annual leave days, notice-period pay if the employer ended the contract without proper notice, plus any agreed bonuses or reimbursables — minus lawful deductions such as an unserved notice period or outstanding loans.
Is leave encashment calculated on basic or total salary in the UAE?
On basic salary. Under Article 29 of the labour law, annual leave pay — including encashment of unused days at the end of service — is based on your basic wage: monthly basic divided by 30, times the number of unused days.
How is notice pay calculated in the UAE?
Notice pay (compensation in lieu of notice, Article 43) is based on your total wage, not basic: monthly total salary divided by 30, times the number of notice days that were not served. It can be owed to you, or deducted from you, depending on who ended the contract and whether the notice period was worked.
When should my UAE final settlement be paid?
Employers must pay all end-of-service dues within 14 days of the contract ending. If your settlement is delayed or underpaid, you can raise a complaint with MOHRE.
Can my employer deduct money from my final settlement?
Only lawful deductions are allowed — for example compensation for an unserved notice period, recovery of documented loans or advances, or proven damage within legal limits. Blanket or unexplained deductions are not permitted; ask for an itemised settlement statement.
